I live in NE / NW Georgia (College / home) and will travel up to 250ish miles to pick it up. Any ideas on where to look? I've tried Craigslist and ebay..nothing too great so far.
Also, is buying a used bike from a dealer a good idea? I'm not too thrilled about all the taxes and everything, and they generally tend to be more expensive anyway.

you should check out a few motorcycle repair shops.. if they dont have one, they may have a bulletin board, where people can post classified adds, and they may be able to hook you up with a bike wrecking yard, who may just what your looking for, ut you might have to put a few extr dollars in getting it road ready

I see Rebel and Ninja 250s on the Nashville Tennessee Craigslist all the time between $1200 and $2200, sounds like that would be a doable trip for You.
