50 / 50 chance they will be accepted in NYC. Because the cost of doing business in NYC is higher most of the independently own fast food restaurants will not honor discount coupons. You know they do have other restaurants in the city, I mean regular places to eat - good food at a reasonable price. You'll have to look for them but isn't that half the fun of being in a strange or new location?
NYC is not like the rest of the country. The rules are a little different and the prices are a little higher. You won't find that many fast food chains in the city (most of all in Manhattan, except for Starbucks where there seems to be one every two blocks)
Unless you're on a painfully tight budget go out and enjoy yourself. Every kind of food in the world can be had in NYC.

Yea it depends but I would say they would more often than not, as long as it's a valid coupon. But like the person above me said, one of the things that makes NYC great is all of the different types of food and not just that but also the quality of the food. So really what's the point of just stoppnig in fast food places. BTW I've never seen an Arby's or Friendly's in NYC my whole life (okay one arby's but it closed 4-5 years ago)

Some fast food/fast casual/chain sit-down restaurants in NYC will honor coupons, some won't.
There are no Arby's in Manhattan (there is one in Queens).
There are no Friendly's anywhere in the 5 boroughs.
If you're really trying to save money on your trip, consider stopping in to a (non-chain) deli and getting a bagel sandwich or meat/cheese on a roll in lieu of your fast food standard order.
