I applied for the coupon the first week it was available and still havent got one yet, not only that but i think only 1 store in my town (Spokane, WA) has any for sale, and they only have 1 model. Has anyone actually got one of these coupons in their hand yet?
Will the coupon work with something like a DVD player that has a Digital converter built in?

I was talking to my daughter about this just this evening.
She says that she sent for the coupon as soon as they became available on line ( about a month ago) and she's still waiting.
I don't know about the coupon being good on a DVD player with a built-in converter but I doubt it. The coupon is a government thing to help defray the cost of the mandatory switch over next year. I don't think they plan on helping you trade up.

Just got my two coupons last week after applying on Jan 1. If there's a RadioShack in your area, they should have some of the converters. If, no store in your area, then their website has them.
Check the DTV website for a list of approved DTV converter boxes and retail and online sellers.

When you recive your coupons, you be able to use them only at select locations; not all retailers have been approved to participate in the DTV coupon program. However, many are; particularly the big-box consumer electronics stores.
It's very important to know that the coupons can only be used on eligable products. The NTIA (the federal organization overseeing the coupon-program) defined very strict requirements for the converters that would be covered under the program. Integrated DVD players and other components not necessary in the analog-to-digital conversion process were explictly excluded. As such, the coupons cannot be used for those items. the NTIA has publishe a list of elligable equipment and retailers on their website.
