I need to buy, register, and insure a car in Montreal to bring to BC, where I reside and hold a license. tips?

April 16th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Before going to 'rescue' my girlfriend from Montreal and drive her back to British Columbia in a vehicle we plan to purchase once I arrive in Montreal, I would like to know what I will need in order to register and insure said vehicle. Neither of us have a Quebec driver's license, but both have valid BC licenses. I know when we bring the car to BC it will have to be inspected and re-registered, but the initial registration and insurance has me concerned. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

      Hello,

We often take for granted what a convenience our cars are. I was paying a low price for my insurance, but at renewal time, my insurer tried to increase my rates.

My friend sent me a link to this site:

      http://www.house-help.org

They have a free search to compare auto rates from the major insurers. It saved me a lot of money!

      Best of Luck

http://autoinsurance.bebto.com - try this insurance company. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they have offices in Canada.
