you can get a good beginner one for around 150. (go in with a set price and guitar in mind, or else you’ll end up getting a case, starter guide and better guitar than you intended).
the key is the sound, so if the sales people are willing, ask them to play a bit (if you have a good ear) if not, you may have to take their word on it.
the guitar center in atlanta was wonderful. those guys really know their stuff

Yea, guitar center for sure, you know..even walmart, or target any music shop really tho!=]
