Where can I buy an airline ticket from St. Louis, MO to Dallas, TX with no departure or return date?

May 13th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I'm buying an airline ticket for my ex to go visit his son in Dallas, TX. However, he doesn't even know the month he'd like to go. Does anyone know how to buy an airline ticket that doesn't specify a date that you're leaving or returning?

It's better to book open ticket with travel agency. Usually online booking need a specific departure and return date.

You can call the airline or any travel agent. You can't buy an open ticket online.

You should be aware that this is going to be very expensive. Discount tickets require that you confirm your flights at the time of purchase. By purchasing an open ticket, you will have to buy a full, non-discounted ticket. You may be shocked at how expensive that can be.

alot of airlines have done away with the open ended tickets since 9/11. but you should definately do a gift card on the airline for the amount of the fare
