Any recommendations in Montreal are good but specifically I'd like to know if there are any dep's in Villeray that carry a decent selection of micros. Thanks!
micro = Microbrew(St. Ambroise, Brasseurs du Nord) as opposed to Macrobrew(Labatt, Molson, etc.)
At grocery stores(Couche-Tard as well), I can get a 24 of Coors for ~$20 but good beer tends to be more expensive. Almost all of them have contracts with the big brewers giving them exclusive rights to the coolers. Plus they sell independent brews for around $2$-3 more per 6pack than I can get at any dep.
SAQ is ok for foreign imports but they can be real pricey. They don't carry much in the way of domestic beer.
But there are a few dep's in the city which arm themselves to the teeth with all of the Quebec micro's. Every now and then I'll stumble across one. I was just curious if anyone knows if there's one like that in Villeray; dep's are everywhere it may take me a while to work my way through all of them…

What's a micro?!?
Just go to the local supermarket - you'll find what you need there, I'm sure!

We have a chain corner store called Couche-Tard. [It's like Mac's Convenience store across Canada ; or like 7-Eleven's in Canada and the States] Most are usually 24hrs and they sell alcohol until a certain hour of the night. I forget until when they stop selling.
The one I found in Villeray is at…
2500 rue Jean-Talon Est, Montréal, QC, H2A 1T7
Check here for other addresses:

We do have an alcohol store called SAQ [it's like the Beer Store or LCBO in Ontario]
The one I found in Villeray is at…

Check here for other addresses & you can check out what kind of beer they sell as well:

As for Dep's in Villeray…well Dep's are everywhere. I don't know every Dep in the area, you will have to drive around or walk around the area you are staying in.
Most Dep's don't carry much of a selection…it's privately own and it's up to the owners in what they want to sell. Your best bet for a good selection is at a SAQ…and then Couche-Tard.
Mind you, the SAQ does not open as late as Couche-Tard….except for the one downtown, which is a SAQ Express situated @ 1176, rue Ste-Catherine Ouest [corner Peel St.] H3B1K1 –>They are open until 10pm every night.

A site worth checking…and it might even help lead you to more QC micros…happy drinking!

Don't know, but why don't you buddy up with the owner of your favourite/closest independent dep and ask him/her to stock whatever you like?
I'm pretty sure my guy on Parc (even side) between Bernard and Van Horne had Le Fin du Monde. Or am I just dreaming…? I can get it at the Zurich train station though. Gawd I'm homesick. Does the Futenbulle still exist?
