I'm gonna work in Thailand and I'd like to buy a laptop and a digital camera. I'm ready to pay a round trip ticket for wherever you guys would advise me (if it worth it).
I'm thinking about Singapore but is it really the best place for it ?

Sarah T : if I tell you that I can easity find a round trip Bkk-Sin, Sin-Bkk for 1'000 THB (32 USD) and that I like airplanes. Would your answer be the same ?

You can choose between Hong Kong or Singapore. Both countries are famouse for selling electronics in Asia. They also have the best prices

1. For cameras, the best prices are now available online from US merchants.
2. Singapore is still one of the best for computer-related products. If you intend to shop in Singapore for electronics, try Sim Lim Square:

But beware the salespeople on Level 1. The upper floor shops are quite good. But you need to bargain hard or check with a few shops before buying.

Philippines by far has the cheapest prices of electronics in Asia. Intel and Texas Instruments manufacture their parts (microchips and other devices) here, so definitely it's a lot more cheaper here.

Singapore, but Bangkok, Thailand itself has a huge Electronics market called Phantip Plaza, i don;t think it is worth it to fly into any country just to get those 2 items and head to Thailand. Just get it in Thailand itself, just need to bargain hard with the price you desire to pay, reasonably of course.
To answer your p/s : then, Singapore. Better English to explain the functions too. But i will prefer the service attitude of Thais..
