I can not find a single cage online big enough for a python more than six feet long.
I have already tried bigappleherp.com and lllreptile.com
still only 8×3,but might work
they eat rabbits and rats, and the last cage i built was destroyed by a 2 lb kitten[not a great carpentress]

What size are you looking for? Bob Clark, probably the biggest snake breeder in the world, specializes in retics and keeps his in 6 x 3 cages, believe it or not. His females over 20 feet are kept in 8 x 3 cages. Bigger is always better, of course, but they don't need a room sized enclosure.

The best and cheapest thing to do is build your own. All you need is plywood or press board, plexiglass, screws, substrate, locks, metal screening, and the rest of the stuff that your 'tic will need. The cage is going to need to be huge, maybe 25'x25' or bigger, and will need a kiddie pool to soak in. But can I ask, why did you get a snake that will need to eat goats about 5 times a year?

the best place to buy HUGE cages is http://www.cagesbydesign.com. they have cages big enough for any size herp. Also their cages are modular so you can expand them as your pet grows. the largest cage they have is 12 feet long, feet high and 4 feet wide. They have someting that fits every size job. It can be a bit pricey, costing i think up to $3000 but if you are experienced enough to own a retic then you would now that kepping reptiles is in no way cheap.

were you feeding the kitten to the snake? why else would a kitten be in your snake cage?

First of all the real question is do you want to spend the money to buy a cage for your retic? If you do then the one place to go is http://www.cagesbydesign.com they have a large enough cage for a retic. If you don't then I would sugest that you get a Carpenter to build one for you, and tell them that you need to keep in the longest and one of the stongest and most aggressive snakes. Trust me I have a silver Retic that is 16 foot. If you have any questions please e-mail me at reptilespecialist101@yahoo.com

Building one would be far cheaper, but if you can't or do not have some one that can, then CAGES BY DESIGN is your best bet. Their Hybrid cages are EXPANDABLE which is wonderful when you keep large reptiles. The down side is the expense a 6'H x 8'L x 4'D is about $2,500 for just the cage.

I advise going to the web site, order the catalog, look through it, find one that will accommodate you and the snake, then make the decision if to buy.
