Where to buy an engagement ring in Raleigh, NC?

June 3rd, 2008 · 3 Comments

I live in Raleigh NCc, and am looking for an engagement ring. The budget is about $600-700. I want something simple yet classy. Where in this area is the best place to look? We have looked at a few (Helzberg, zales, kays) and havent found anything we like. Where is good to look around here? Please help!

Honestly…I'd suggest http://www.abazias.com or http://www.bluenile.com they have WAY better quality and you save around 23% depending on the piece. You can choose your diamond (color, cut, clarity and carat)….so you make it your own!!! And you can choose the setting. My H2B bought mine from Abazias Diamonds and it's amazing! Truly a one-of-a-kind. :) They are VERY helpful, through email or by phone and will work with you and your budget!

I got mine at Carlyle and Co at Northgate Mall. They had someone custom make it. I went to one of the setting shows (sometimes called Expos), where the people bring hundreds of settings for you to pick from. They were amazing and fit every style.

Another suggestion you may not like. Go to a warehouse club. Personally I've been to both BJ's and Sam's Club. I have several pieces of jewelry from Sam's Club and they have amazing prices due to corporate policies. They can't raise it more than 14% more than cost–which makes them far less than most jewelry stores!

You may try Jolly's–though I'm not sure they have any in that price range. They tend to be really expensive. Have you looked at department stores? I know Belks, Macy's, Sears, JC Penny's all have a jewelry counter as well.

But my best suggestion is to go with a Diamond Show/Expo. SO many of the stores had special weekends where they would have hundreds of settings. It really worked great. I was able to try on 20 rings all at once and look at all the loose diamonds as well.
