where to buy computer parts - not online?

July 5th, 2008 · 4 Comments

is there anywhere to buy motherboards, processors, etc. from a brick and mortar store. Like computer builders warehouse, except for the whole out of business thing.

I just don't like buying online without actually being able to see what I'm buying…

If you have a Compusa near you, check it out.

i would look in the yellow pages for something like that. look for computer recycling stores. or your local repair shop that resells computers. stores like bestbuy are not going to have what you need.

It really depends. Where I live, there are a few physical stores that sell parts, ranging from Circuit City (from which I generally would not purchase) to a place called Red Barn Computers (where I have actually bought some items). But usually I go through Newegg, they usually have competitive prices and their customer service is good.

If you are firm in your commitment to buying locally at a physical store, try the phone book.
