Hi
I’m looking to buy a paintball Jersey, Pants, and Helmet for when i go paint balling.
I’m currently looking at the Proto 07 and 08 but im not sure if there is any real difference between the two other than release date.
I would prefer to get the cheaper model but I dont want to miss out on anything important such as crouch protection.
I am also unsure what helmet type to get and where to buy all of this equipment. I have seen it at dash paintballing but it is pretty expensive compared to amazon however i would rather buy at a shop.
Any ideas towards the type of clothing and where to buy it would be greatly appreciated

Goodwill Store for everything but the mask and gun. It is going to get splattered, after all.

Not much difference between Proto 07 & 08 aside from looks. They started including crotch padding in 05 or so, which is the year of my Proto pants.
Jerseys are all basically the same. Some have minor added details like elbow padding (which is always too thin to be any use) or thumbholes (helps keep the sleeves in place if you slide). But you don’t really need a jersey unless you’re on a team playing tournaments. Most people are fine with a plain long sleeve tee.
Some more popular masks (generally not called helmets) are JT Flex’s (Flex 7, Flex 8, Proflex), Dye IR3’s, Empire E-Vents or Avatars or VForce Profilers or Grills. Some (or most) of those are kinda pricey, the cheapest being the Avatars, Flex 7’s & Profilers, but a mask is really the most important paintball equipment you’ll use so don’t be afraid to spend a little more for a good one.
