Where to buy military-grade bags for civilians?

July 10th, 2010 · 3 Comments

I bought some backpacks and apparel from specialforces.com, but the products actually broke after not very long (the plastic straps on the bags snapped, the gloves ripped before I even wore them).

Does anyone know where I can buy the same quality stuff that the US military uses for their soldiers so that I don’t have to worry about all my stuff breaking and falling out while I’m going hiking with 100 lb. bags?

      military surplus stores or http://www.botachtactical.com

Got a BlackHawk Camelbak HAWG bag there. Really good stuff. Had it for almost 2 years and everything is still in great condition.

Newsflash: Almost every piece of equipment we have is made by the lowest bidder… Our gear breaks too, and then we have to stand in line to argue with retarded civilians with attitude problems about why the straps might have broken while fast-roping out of a CH-46, just so we can be overcharged for a new one… But I’ll save my CIF rant for another time.

That said, try a local Army/Navy store. That’s where a lot of us [may or may not] unload our [questionably acquired] gear for beer money when we get out of the service…

@ VS Newsflash, no we don’t. The Government procurement process has been using the Best Value Source Selection process for more than 10 years.
