Where to buy my gaming computer?

July 3rd, 2008 · 10 Comments

Hi I am looking for a good website to buy a decent gaming computer for under $1000. Yes I know I will not get much for gaming with that but that is what I have. I have read countless bad reviews for cyberpowerpc.com so I don't think I want to buy from there. Thank you for your suggestion.

Try DELL - they have some XPS gaming PCs and I heard they bought out Alienware…the famous game computer maker…$1000 is kind of a low budget…so dell xps would be a good choice.

You will get far more performance building it yourself with parts from newegg than buying a namebrand.. not to mention its cheaper.

Your best bet would be build your own PC. You will get quality parts (if you read some reviews) and you get a better PC because you don't have to pay the manufacture cost.

For $1000 you can get a nice Gaming PC if you build it.

look at newegg.com, or tigerdirect.com. Here are some good options-
      1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227066

      Get a Gateway FX7026

Google it and you should find it.

      I have an FX7020

      They are high quality machines.

Despite the bad reviews with cyberpower, I bought 1 from them about a year ago for my Father and they did a good job….so I'm very happy with the purchase.

This site has better reviews and approval ratings and I would've bought from them instead, had I known about them at the time:
      http://avadirect.com/

They are THE most comprehensive site of them all, letting you choose from a plethora of options when compared to any other site. They are truly a meticulous man's dream if you didn't want or know how to build one yourself.

another site to mention that I'm sure you're prob already aware of is this site:
      http://www.ibuypower.com/mall/lobby.htm

I won't name any others b/c they are more expensive. There were suggestions for both Dell and Gateway, I disagree with these suggestions. If you compare apples to apples with avadirect, it will work out to be cheaper….which means you can get a better computer for the money and you won't be locked out of the BIOS.

yeah build your own PC if you can… you can get some very decent results for 1k… if you can't do that I would not recommend buying from a manufacturer… go on newegg.com and look for computers on there… you will get a much better machine than if you buy from dell.com
