  They are everywhere … but remember, if you ever have to have it repaired, under warranty or not, you will have to ship it to the closest International Nikon repair station and deal with all the shipping and custom costs as well as the time involved … gray market cameras and lenses are a problem …. they are no different than the ones imported by Nikon to the US, but their warranties are much different. And NPS will not loan you a replacement while yours is in the shop, but if you were a pro, you would know this.

  I have only one had to purchase a Nikon lens in China. One of my lenses was damaged by the baggage handling staff and I had to buy a replacement. I was lucky and the 20 mm lens was pretty much bulletproof under shooting conditions and I still have it today. With the more complex zoom lenses we see today, they eventually need a little cleaning from time to time to keep all the parts moving as designed
