where to buy the best cake ever in the US?

I know about cheesecake factory and I am a fan but I was wondering if there is any other place that I am not aware of. I have just moved to Boston so generally specking, I like to know what are the well known places in the US when it comes to cakes and pastries and what is a good one in MA particularly… thank you

The best cakes I've ever bought were from Rockwell's Bakery in Villa Park, California. Not only were the cakes light and fluffy, but they don't use buttercream frosting (which I don't like). All of their frostings are either whipped cream or pure fudge or white chocolate … They use fresh fruit and chocolate curls to decorate - not those horrible buttercream flowers, etc.
