where to buy Worm gears?

I am a high school student. I am doing an engineerig competition and need to buy a worm gear. It needs to about An inch of threads. The space needs to be a single worm gear and have a small whole for an axle. It needs to be light weight….

I have absolutly idea how or where to buy such a gear…

Any ideas….

      No, sorry no idea where to buy it. You don’t say what you are trying to do with it. Do you also need a matching ring gear or are you hoping to match something you already have? I do know that a handheld kitchen mixer has a worm gear and ring gears in it. If you could find a old one. You could use a machine screw as a worm gear if you could figure how to attach it to a shaft.You could make a worm gear by winding a stiff wire around a shaft.
