Where to go to buy furniture?

Folks,

I want to buy furniture to furnish my one bedroom apartment. I don’t know where to go to buy and i am afraid getting screwed. My budget is around $2500 for bedroom and living room. I don’t know anything about Mattress. I mean getting soft or hard. I don’t know which one is better. Please, advise?

I would say check out the local salvation army for furniture, but not for a mattress. Spend the bulk of your money on your mattress. It should be firm, not too soft where you just melt into it, and not so firm where you feel like you’re sleeping on the floor. Best of luck!

Ikea is the best place. A lot of their sofas/chairs are slip covered so you can easily change or wash them. They have several lines of storage solutions that are sold by component so you can customize a shelf or entertainment center to fit your needs and taste. They also sell a variety of mattresses. You should visit a store and try out mattresses and decide for yourself what is most comfortable.
