Where’s the best place to buy a jump rope cheap?

September 2nd, 2008 · 4 Comments

Hi-I want to buy one so I can start exercising-I have seen some for sale at Ebay.com-but I don’t want to spend a lot of money on one and some of the ones they have for sale there are expensive. Any suggestions? Please let me know.

Wal Mart, Kmart, the dollar store. (Check the toy dept as opposed to the exercise equipment) It doesn’t have to be fancy. Or just buy a length of rope at the home department or Home Depot or something. It doesn’t even really need handles.

I think that best place to get a jumprope is probably the Dollar Store. If not, check Target WalMart or any local toy store.
Hope I help and good luck with the exercising!

You’ll find a good speed rope at any sporting goods store (e.g. Sports Authority, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Sports Chalet, etc). This is what I use which I bought at Sports Authority for only $5.

It’s a great jump rope capable of high speeds and intricate tricks. You don’t necessarily need an expensive jump rope to make the most out of the exercise, as you become more proficient you’ll find that cheaper jump ropes are far better than their more expensive rivals.

However, if you want to lay down some serious cash on a jump rope, then you should consider Buddy Lee’s Aero Speed. It’s quite pricey for a jump rope, $40, but it’s well worth it.

Some brands you might consider: Valeo, Everlast, and Buddy Lee (can’t find this in stores).

From my experience, try to avoid jump ropes with circular bearings and bulky handles. Choose jump ropes with a pvc cord and slim handles. Hope this helps…happy jumping!
